Happy Homemaker Monday (11/21/2016)

Happy Monday! Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. We took a spur of the moment trip to Pittsburgh to spend the day with one of my best friends. We have known each other for 18+years and she was my maid of honor in my wedding. We hadn't seen each other in 7 years as she lives with her husband and 2 children in Singapore. It was a wonderful weekend and I am so thankful that we were able to make the trip.

Speaking of being thankful, I cannot believe this is the week of Thanksgiving. I am not hosting, but there are still things to make and plans to make. My kids have 2 days of school this week and then they are off for the rest of the week. It is a busy time, but a nice time as we are getting into the holiday spirit.
Now it is Monday and time to get on with our Happy Homemaker Monday (hosted by our friend Sandra over at Diary of a Stay at Home Mom).

THE WEATHER OUTSIDE IS:::

Wintery! Last Friday is was 75 degrees and sunny. When we left Ohio at 6:15am on Saturday morning it was raining hard, but was still 58degrees. When we came home yesterday there was snow on the ground and it was 30 degrees, but felt like 18! It is supposed to be cold this week and raining later in the week, just in time for the holiday.

ON THE BREAKFAST PLATE THIS MORNING:::

I had a brownie a few minutes ago, and will probably make some eggs and bacon in a little bit...after I straighten up the kitchen.

AS I LOOK OUTSIDE MY WINDOW:::

I see snow on the ground and on the cars. Not a ton, but probably about an inch or so. Enough to make it look pretty.

RIGHT NOW I AM:::

Typing up this post, listening to "Finding Dory" on the tv.  Benjamin doesn't have school on  Mondays, so he requested we watch the dvd. I am also thinking about everything that I have to do this week to get the house clean so we can decorate for Christmas this weekend.

AS I LOOK AROUND THE HOUSE:::

There is a lot of things that need to be done. Our mudroom is a mess, where I dumped our stuff that we took to Pittsburgh. The kitchen is a mess as I didn't do dinner dishes last night. The kids left some of their breakfast dishes on the kitchen table. There is a bunch of miscellaneous things out in the living room.

ON TODAY'S TO-DO LIST:::
  • Clean the downstairs bathrooms
  • Laundry (At least 2 loads)
  • Collect trash from around the house and take to curb
  • Decide on plan for Christmas cards
  • Clean up mudroom
  • Clean kitchen
  • sweep dining room
  • straighten up living room
  • fold and put away all clothes
  • menu plan and make grocery list for this week

  2. Sounds like a very nice day. Just remember you will never get the time back you spend with your kids now. You will have all the time you want later so enjoy them and clean when they are grown.

    It feels rather cool here tonight. Ok not so cool we have to turn on the heat, but at least cool enough to wear pants and socks Yeah the flip flops are gone for the most part now until February. OH who am I kidding I will bring them back out any day that is warm enough to wear them!
