Weigh In Wednesday #11 of 2017

So one of my 2017 goals is to lose 40 pounds by the end of the year. This is a necessity for me, as in the last few months I have gained 15 pounds. That is not good. I want to be healthier and feel better about myself.

In order to keep me accountable, I am hoping to come back each Wednesday to share my weigh in and my successes and failures from the previous week. So let's hop to it and see how I did this past week, shall we?

SO HOW DID THIS WEEK GO???
My official starting weight (on 1/1/2017) was: 242.0 pounds!
My weight last week was: 234.6 pounds.
My weight this week is: 238.2 pounds.
So a gain of 3.6 pounds! :-(
Total loss from 1/1/17: 3.8 pounds

I thought that I was in a better place after losing weight last week. Well apparently not, as I gained back the 2 pounds I had lost and then added another 1.6 pounds on top of that. So frustrating, especially when I know the reason behind it...snack eating and stress eating. It has to stop, but I seem powerless to overcome this area. It is so freaking frustrating...

If you are trying to lose weight in 2017, how is your progress going?

  1. I'm sorry things have been so frustrating for you...trust me I can relate to the stress snacking/eating! Hang on until Spring when it's much easier to get out and walk in the warm(er) air and sunshine! It's a marathon to the finish not a sprint! =)

  2. I so agree about being a marathon rather than a sprint. Keep your spirits up. Today is a new day!

  3. I'm back to weighing myself almost every day because my clothes were getting too tight. I've lost 6.6lbs so far. I've had to eliminate things from my diet because I have NO CONTROL! I can't just eat a little chocolate for example. What I've done is make substitutions - I still eat a lot. Instead of candy snacks (which I love) I eat grape tomatoes, green grapes and unsalted unroasted peanuts in the shell and pistachios. No more cream for my coffee, instead I use soy milk. And I count every calorie and exercise a LOT. One other thing that helps in losing weight is this detox drink - I may have told you about it before: squeeze 1/2 a lemon, add 2 tbsp of cider vinegar, 1 tsp of honey, a sprinkle of cinnamon and boiling water.
If you can try to eat only real food, like have an apple instead of a granola bar. I know it's hard - I've struggled with extra weight for years.

  4. You might need to just get the stress gone first. I am a big stress eater and it is hard. Many stop eating when stressed, I just eat more. Have you thought about weight watchers or even if your insurance would pay for a dietician to help you make good choices. Cheryl
