Weigh In Wednesday: Finally....

Sorry this is getting put up so late. This is the first chance that I have had to sit down and type this up...between a new babysitting job, my tutoring job, life with my own family, I am surprised I am able to get on the computer this early!
Anyhow, let's get on with this week's Weigh In Wednesday:

My official starting weight (on 1/1/2017) was: 242.0 pounds!

My weight last week was 235.4.
My weight today is:

So a loss of 1.8 pounds. FINALLY A LOSS!!!
Total loss from 1/1/17: 8.4 pounds

Finally a loss!!! I
was really thinking that I was going to have  a gain this week or a little loss as I have not been able to exercise and I have been stressed and not sleeping well. But to my surprise there was a 1.8 pound loss recorded! I have been more diligent about my diet. I really need to follow the thought that many of you shared with me last week...focus on the diet to lose weight and focus on the exercise for my sanity! I kind of did that this week and I got results that I liked. I started carb cycling as of Monday. I am doing regular carb on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. I am doing low carbs on Tuesday, Thursday and either Saturday or Sunday. The other weekend day is going to be my free day.

I am not going to be giving up exercise completely as I need it for my sanity. I started babysitting a 7 week old baby girl on Monday, so that has cut into my exercise time as I have been trying to get into a schedule with her. I am hoping to have a better idea of a schedule next week. For now, this is what exercise wise happened since last Wednesday:

Thursday: Thursday Bill and I went walking and found the Bridge of Dreams, which I blogged about here. We walked a total of 4.22 miles.

Friday: We were both pretty tired on Friday so we ended up not walking.

Saturday: Didn't do anything.

Sunday: We just relaxed around the house after Church.

Monday: I started a babysitting job, so we didn't do anything except try to figure out A's schedule and how we are going to work with that. No exercise done.

Tuesday: I didn't get to walk outside, however, I did exercise to a Leslie Sansone walking dvd for 2 miles. Felt like I really needed to move.

Wednesday (Today): We took A out in her stroller to the path and walked 2 miles. We could have done more, but Bill was in a time crunch for work.

So as you can see it wasn't the best week for movement but that is okay. I did feel the difference and NEED to be able to incorporate more movement into the days that I will be babysitting A. Will have to plan on it! I am really glad though that the scale was in my favor today! :-)

If you are on a weight loss journey, how are you doing?

  1. I like your saying posted. Today was a hard food day-shared food truck item, because it was Asian fusion, with a coworker-but at least didn't eat the whole thing. Later, I was a little hungry so had a low cal pudding and apple sauce, forgetting there was to be floats for a going away gathering! I tried to redeem myself at dinner out with friends and had a garden salad, and hummus and veggie plate. We'll see what the damage is tomorrow.

    2. Thanks SAM! Don't beat yourself up on your diet yesterday. Those days happen. That is why on my new way of eating I am giving myself leeway to have a free day every week, because life happens and days happen like you had yesterday. Overall, I don't think that you did too bad.
