Friday Night Football

Last night, I took the kids to see my brother play in his last home football game of his high school career. My brother Josh plays football for the Mount Vernon Yellow Jackets. The kids were so excited to go see Uncle Josh play. (He is number 57.)

Last night was also Senior Night where the seniors got introduced before the game and got to walk across the field with their parents. Josh walked with our mom, dad and our sister. It was pretty cool to see. (Unfortunately my mom had to leave before the game started as she was sick with a stomach bug and had been throwing up since early that morning).

The kids loved the football game. They also loved being able to eat dinner at the field. Hot dog for Rebecca, pizza for Ben and nachos for Jacob. LOL

The first half of the game was great, as the Yellow Jackets got 4 turnovers but the game was tied.

During halftime, the marching band put on their senior showcase. This included a "Script Ohio" at the end. (If you know anything about college football, you know that the Ohio State University Marching band is world famous for their script Ohio performance). The band did theirs and it was marvelous.

The second half of the game got a bit ugly with the other team taking a commanding lead. There was also penalties on both coaching staffs for unsportsmanlike conduct. Unfortunately, Mount Vernon lost. The kids had fun yapping it up in the stands and going to the bathroom 50 million times!

After the game, the kids to go out on the field to see Uncle Josh and my dad wanted some pictures of Josh with everyone.

To say that I am proud of my little brother is an understatement. He is such a good guy...caring, kind, has a ton of friends, is a great Uncle and brother. He is hoping to play football in college so I can't wait to see what his future holds!
