Happy Homemaker Monday (December 31, 2018)

Happy Monday! It seems like forever since I have participated in "Happy Homemaker Monday" (put on by the lovely Sandra over at "Diary of a Stay at Home Mom.") I thought to get the week off to a good start I should take part again. I miss the consistency of blogging and this is a good way to put little snippets of what is going on in our life at this moment.

We had a pretty good weekend. Saturday I spent the morning cleaning house and making food for that evening. Then we headed out to my parents' house to see my brother's kids who were not there on Christmas. Then back home for dinner with very good friends of ours and their kids. I made baked pasta, homemade garlic bread, salad, cheesecake and cookies from Christmas. It was a lovely evening. Sunday, the kids and I went to church. Then we just puttered around the house and did laundry.

Today should be interesting as I am babysitting and 2 of the 3 kids are sick. Ugh. Going to be a long day I think. But I do what I need to, so let's get on with this...

THE WEATHER OUTSIDE:::

Next 5 Days

It is supposed to be rainy today and high near 60. I also saw that we have a high wind advisory for overnight tonight. Great. NOT! Unfortunately, the rest of the week is supposed to be much more seasonal with highs in the 30s and low 40s. I don't think there is supposed to be any rain/snow but it is supposed to be cloudy. I wish that the sun would come out and stay out.

ON THE BREAKFAST PLATE:::

I have had a large glass of orange juice. Nothing else as of right now. In a bit I might have a breakfast sandwich or a couple French toast sticks.

RIGHT NOW I AM:::

Sitting here typing this post up. It is 7:22 AM and I have my babysitting kids. 2 of them are sick with colds, including the baby so I am taking a moment while she is asleep. The 2 boys are playing with the trains and watching DinoTrux on Netflix. I hear my own kids stirring upstairs.

AS I LOOK AROUND THE HOUSE:::

It doesn't look too bad. I straightened up over the weekend. I think we might take our Christmas stuff down today so that we can start the new year with a clean house.

NEW RECIPE I TRIED OR WANT TO TRY::

I am going to be making Asian-Garlic chicken wings tonight. They sound really good.
I made a turkey pot pie last night subbing out turkey that I had in the freezer for the chicken I usually use. Bill and Rebecca both said they preferred the turkey. I prefer the chicken. I am trying to use up things in my freezer.

Well the baby is awake from her nap and I hear my boys upstairs being loud, so I need to end this and take care of kiddos. Hope everyone has a safe and wonderful New Year's Eve. I plan on being back on here tomorrow with my goals for 2019 (which include getting back into blogging).
