I watched 2 movies!

I will never be described as a movie fanatic. In fact, there are months where I don't watch a single movie at all. (Which is funny, because my husband LOVES movies-- I guess opposites do attract! LOL) Anyhow... Friday night I watched, not one, but 2 movies in a row!

At our house, Friday nights are typically a pizza dinner and kid movie night. I hardly ever watch the kids' movies because I have either seen them a thousand times already (can we say "Frozen"? LOL) or I really don't want to (can we say the live action Alvin and the Chipmunk movies that Rebecca loves!).

Well Friday I rented "Snow White and the SEven Dwarfs" for the kids to watch. Disney re-released it and it was digitally remastered. My kids had never seen it and the last time I had seen it was when I was a little girl. The kids loved it, even though I forgot how dark the movie was. It was nice to pay attention to it and I am only slightly annoyed that I am still singing "Hi-ho, hi-ho, it's off to work we go." in my head 2 days later! LOL

After the kids went to bed, I then put in "The Martian" starring Matt Damon. According to IMDB.com, this is what "The Martian" is about:  During a manned mission to Mars, Astronaut Mark Watney is presumed dead after a fierce storm and left behind by his crew. But Watney has survived and finds himself stranded and alone on the hostile planet. With only meager supplies, he must draw upon his ingenuity, wit and spirit to subsist and find a way to signal to Earth that he is alive.

One of my all time favorite movies is "Apollo 13" starring Tom Hanks, so I thought I would like this movie as well. And I was right. I thought it was funny, emotional, and kept me on the edge of my seat. I would highly recommend you see it.

So, for someone who typically does not watch movies, to have watched 2 in one day is something!

Have you watched any good movies lately?

  1. We watched The Judge and I loved it. It was real and sad but really didn't get great reviews. I guess people think life is easy and family always get along Cheryl.

  2. I watched "In Bruges" recently and really did like it (thanks Netflix) even though it is dark and a bit violent.

    1. I tend to steer clear of dark and violent movies....LOL just not my cup of tea. I will recommend it to Dear Hubby though as he likes most types of movies.

  3. I've heard great things about the Martian. And I'm happy that you got to chill for a while, you are one busy woman.

    1. Yeah it was nice to not do anything...although that also translated into not getting too much done this weekend, unless you count the 2 hour nap I took on Sunday and then sitting with my husband and kids and watching the Super Bowl. LOL

    1. I thought he was perfect for the role as well! I will have to see if our library has the book.
