Valentine's Day, Snow, and headcolds

We had a lovely Valentine's Day around here. Saturday night after the kids went to bed, I set out their Valentine's Day trinkets on our kitchen table for them to find in the morning. We got Rebecca a pair of Valentine's socks and a Reese's pieces tube. Jacob got a pack of football cards and a Reese's pieces tube. And we got Benjamin a Thomas the Train puzzle and a Reese's pieces tube. I also laid out Bill's card in which I stuck a Snickers Peanut Butter candy bar and a Dove dark chocolate bar.

The plan was for me to get up early and make cinnamon rolls in the shape of hearts before we had to head to PSR and church. Well, I set my alarm and went to bed. I got up at 7 to make the rolls only to find that my dear hubby had brought home donuts for everyone for breakfast, so back to bed for about an hour more of sleep.

We had a lovely laid back day. My dear husband got me a sappy card and a box of Lindor chocolates which are my favorite! We got the kids McDonald's for lunch and then just kind of hung out all afternoon just relaxing. For dinner, I let the kids make their own pizzas.

After they ate, I made Bill and I a special Valentine's dinner of grilled steak, baked potato, and asparagus for Bill and green beans for me. While we ate our dinner, the kids watched their last Valentine's surprise- "Be My Valentine, Charlie Brown" dvd.

After everyone had dinner, we had our special dessert--- CHOCOLATE LASAGNA!!! Well, everyone except Rebecca, who started complaining that she didn't feel good. She had a low grade fever. We have all been fighting off a head cold the last few days and it is hitting her the hardest. Even this morning, she still has a fever and just feels blah.

This morning, we woke up to a fresh blanket of several inches of snow that had fallen overnight. School was cancelled for today, which is just fine with me so that we can just rest and hopefully fight off these cold germs. It was really pretty to look at. I did go out and shovel our steps for the mailman, but other than that I hope to get to stay home today.

So that is what is up in my world. Dealing with everyone in our house having a head cold, snowy days and just trying to get things done.
