I started menu planning at the beginning of the year and I will say that with a few exceptions, it has worked!
HOW DID WE DO LAST WEEK???
MONDAY::: Ham, mashed potatoes, green beans, carrots--NOPE
TUESDAY::: Chicken patty sandwiches, waffle fries, pears---NOPE
WEDNESDAY::: Hamburger helper and peas-- NOPE
THURSDAY::: Fish, Velveeta shells and cheese, broccoli--NOPE
FRIDAY::: Pizza rolls and fruit-- Yes, although the kids had pizza rolls and waffle fries
SATURDAY::: Chili and grilled cheese-- NOPE
SUNDAY::: Chicken and cheese casserole and green beans-- NOPE
Well last week was a loss except for Friday. Dealing with the stomach flu ALL WEEK LONG meant that at some meals most of us were not eating and at other meals I didn't feel well enough to make what was planned. Oh well. You have weeks like that. That made planning for this upcoming week rather easy as I just transferred everything to this coming week with a couple of changes. :) Thankfully, we all seem to be on the mend, so hopefully I can stick to the plan this week.
So what are we having this week??
MONDAY::: Ham, mashed potatoes, green beans, carrots
TUESDAY::: grilled chicken and salad
WEDNESDAY::: Hamburger helper and peas
THURSDAY::: Fish, Velveeta shells and cheese, broccoli
FRIDAY::: Pizza
SATURDAY::: Chili and grilled cheese
SUNDAY::: This is Super Bowl Sunday which is a National Holiday according to my dear hubby. I will make him chicken wings and am not sure what I am going to make the kids and I yet.
I tend to make our menus out on Sunday night to go from Monday to Sunday. I usually go to the grocery store one day during the week (usually Wednesday but sometimes another day). I have everything I need for this menu!
Hopefully, I will be able to stick to this plan and can report back success next week!
Do you menu plan?
Do you have a favorite dinner to share?
Super Bowl Sunday is a holiday here too and TheHub already wants to know what's for dinner. I keep telling him I have no idea since it is not Sunday yet.
ReplyDeleteMy dh asked for chicken wings for the big game. With everyone in your family will just surviving the week is a good thing. Cheryl
