First let's recap:
My official starting weight (on July 30) was::: 235.6 lbs.
My official starting weight (on July 30) was::: 235.6 lbs.
My weight last week was::: 226.4 lbs
My weight this week is::: 226.4 lbs.
I didn't lose and I didn't gain.
This past week was okay. I didn't lose. I didn't gain. And I know why. I tried eating better. I cut down on the snack consumption. However, there were 2 factors that I believe led to the no gain, no loss....One is that this was the week for "Aunt Flo" to be here with me for the month. And reason number 2 is that we ate out 3 different times and I did not make good choices for those times.. Friday night, we used a gift card and got Donatos pizza for dinner, as Rebecca was there for a birthday party so I decided to get dinner from there. Pepperoni pizza and cheese bread later....and you know what it really wasn't all that great. Sunday after church, we were invited out to brunch with my parents at Bob Evans. I ordered a farmer's market omelet, hash browns and cherry bread. Not the best choice but very good. Monday night, the Ohio State Buckeyes were playing in the college football national championship game and my husband had to go to Buffalo Wild Wings for a work assignment and so we decided to get food from there for dinner again using a gift card. I got a chicken wrap which came with chips and salsa and we shared fries with cheese on top of them. Again not the greatest choices. So I know what I did wrong and now I just have to make different choices next time.

My best advice for weight loss... UP the protein & veggies, LOWER the carbs. It works. ;) Good luck!!
ReplyDeleteRachel, Carla is right. When I was dieting a few years back, it took me an entire year to lose 20 pounds. My husband and I worked out like dogs doing P90X and we started running too. It's not easy. Keeping it off is even harder. We both gained it all back over the last couple of years which is very depressing and now we're older and can't do that hard training anymore. All we're up to doing now is walking for exercise. But you need to cut out all bread, pasta, fries, cookies, pizza, chips...all that good stuff. The problem with those foods is you can't have just a small portion. It's impossible to just eat one piece of pizza, right? But that's a portion. If you must have carbs, eat whole grain pasta and breads only. Lots of veggies and (sigh) grilled chicken. It's boring but it works. Say no to the cheese fries! Those are my husband's favorite bad thing to eat. It's behavior modification. It's hard, but you can train your brain along with your stomach. I wish you luck and I really should be doing this with you. I need to lose those 20 pounds all over again.
