Thrive Market and cleaning the abyss

A few months ago, a friend of mine was talking about a new to her online market where she could order healthy, organic and some vegan food items and other items that were lower in price from the the grocery store. She recommended that I try it out and maybe even apply for a membership into the site. I looked into Thrive Market and thought this might be a resource that I could use to get some essential oils and some healthier snacks for the kids. However, I wasn't sure about the membership fee, which is $60 for the year. However, I went ahead and applied anyway and we were blessed to be given a free 1 year membership and several coupon codes to use for our first orders, including free shipping.

With our first coupon and order, I was able to get some things that we needed for our pantry, and also some snack items for the kids that are an healthier option than what I would normally buy. I was also able to get a bottle of cedarwood essential oil, that I was looking to buy as we are trying different oils on Jacob to see if it would help with his ADHD symptoms.

Using the coupon code, I only spent $13 out of pocket for the following items: including a large bottle of extra virgin olive oil (which I use for cooking and for diluting the essential oils), hot jalapeno slices, chicken sauces, cookies, honey, couscous, real fruit bars for the kids, and several bags of chips.

I was super impressed with their communication and customer service. I was also impressed with their shipping. I ordered on Saturday and received our order on Tuesday, when the estimated delivery date I was given was not until Friday. I will definitely be ordering from them again in the future.

Besides looking for deals to help our family, I am also supposed to be working on cleaning house before the holidays. One of my goals for November, was to deep clean Rebecca's bedroom before her birthday and Thanksgiving. I have worked on a couple of areas of her room- including her dresser and clothes (which took me an hour to go through!) and her hamper full of stuffed animals.

Today on my to-do list is the abyss! Or rather, what is underneath her bed. Rebecca is really into arts and crafts and we allow her to keep rubbermaid bins under her daybed to corral all the items. However, other things get put under there and it needs a good deep cleaning and purging. So that is on my to-do list today....

So I should close this and get started. Wish me luck! Off to the abyss I go...

    1. All I had to do was follow the trail of glitter, sand and beads...no crumbs needed! LOL

  2. Have a productive day and watch out for any rabid dust bunnies (or maybe they are all at my house!)

    1. USually I do just ignore it...then it starts to bug me as I have to pass her room to go downstairs. I usually do a deep clean like this about 2 times a year.
