Happy Homemaker Monday (3-13-17)

Happy Monday! Hope everyone had a good weekend. Mine was good. I did a few things around the house, took a load of crap stuff to Goodwill, took a nap both Saturday and Sunday, and just lived simply. It was a pretty uneventful weekend, which was a nice change of pace.

For today, I will be joining in with the lovely Sandra over at "Diary of a Stay at Home Mom" in her Happy Homemaker Monday meme. So let's get started:

THE WEATHER:::
Today it is really cold out and it is supposed to start snowing later. We are under a winter weather advisory from 5pm today until Wednesday night. Supposedly we are supposed to get 4-7 inches of snow. I will believe it when I see it.

ON MY READING PILE:::
Still reading "Wonder"

ON MY TV:::

On Friday nights, we typically do pizza and a movie for the kids. This year I would like to try to remember what movies we have watched, so I will be recapping here. This past Friday night, we watched Moana. Rebecca and Jacob had seen it in the theater with my dad. I thought it was good- kind of a cross between Hercules and Pocohantas with a Polynesian twist. We actually ended up watching it both Friday and Saturday night, when my sister came over to watch it with the kiddos.

ON THE MENU FOR THIS WEEK:::
MONDAY: pulled pork sandwiches, corn, carrots, salad
TUESDAY: chili, grilled cheese
WEDNESDAY: hamburger helper and peas (leftovers for me)
THURSDAY: ????
FRIDAY: pizza maybe
SATURDAY: spaghetti with meat sauce
SUNDAY: chicken drumsticks, augratin potatoes, green beans

ON MY TO-DO LIST FOR THIS WEEK:::
Monday: Go to the grocery store, Jacob has a doctor appointment, Ben speech and OT, tutor, trash and recycling to curb
Tuesday: kids to school
Wednesday: kids to school, tutor
Thursday: Cleveland
Friday: Canton
Saturday:
Sunday: PSR, church
And each day has the daily housework that needs to be done.

LOOKING AROUND THE HOUSE:::
It doesn't look too bad in the downstairs. There are a few things out, but that is just our life right now. Upstairs is a different story; our room is clean. Rebecca's room is decent (for a 10 year old). The boys' room is a disaster! I just sent Benjamin upstairs to start cleaning it. I will join him in a few minutes to help.

FROM THE CAMERA:::

WHAT I'M WEARING TODAY:::
Jeans, brown boots and a dark pink sweater

SIMPLE PLEASURE:::
Making travel plans for the family and trying to come up with fun things to do with our family. I love the planning part!

DEVOTIONAL OR QUOTE:::

So there you have it. A little peek into my life on this Monday. Hope everyone has had a great day and let's see what this week will bring!

  3. I love your quote this week. Oh, I always get caught up in the planning part of trips as well. So much fun. Hopefully, you won't get too much snow. Hope you have a wonderful week!

  4. I wish we were only getting four to seven inches! We are under a BLIZZARD WARNING with accumulation maps predicting fifteen to twenty five inches of snow starting tomorrow into early Wednesday morning! Prepping the best I can at home in case of power outage - washing clothes, baking, going to the library for books for the family to chose from. =)

  5. Yesterday was the first day in about a month that I have needed a sweater and I was complaining about it. Thank you for putting it in perspective for me. We have not had more than a couple of days below freezing all winter, and even with the heat off it is still warm enough in the house to wear flip flops. A cold front is relative!

  6. I love planning trips as well. Haven't been able to go anywhere for a long time so I'm hoping this year we can get away even if for a few days.

    Your menu sounds yummy as always. This weather is insane, I'm so sick of the flip flopping from cold to hot to snow.
