My sister and Ben |
Anyhow, we went out to my parents' house on Saturday evening for a birthday cookout. I have come to be the go to person for birthday cakes in our family and there was no exception for my sister's birthday.
I always ask if there is something specific they would like on their cake and the flavor of cake they would like. I make a non-dairy from scratch cake in chocolate and vanilla (as if my nephew is there, he cannot have dairy).
Well, last weekend in a kind of joking manner, Mary asked if I could make her a chocolate "drunk Barbie" cake. Of course I said yes, as I love a challenge.
Well, here is the end result....
The Drunk Barbie cake |
I think it turned out really cute. I got the Barbie at Walmart (on a related note do you know how hard it is to find a red-headed Barbie that is not Ariel (the Little Mermaid!)). The toilet and wine bottles I ordered off of Amazon. The throw up is nerds candy.
She LOVED her cake and that is what matters the most!
Yes, she had to blow out 21 candles! |
The kids also loved the cake, even though I had to explain what being drunk was about and why it was a drunk Barbie cake! LOL
My sister with her nieces and nephews (missing one nephew). |
We had a fun time at the birthday party! The weather was perfect and everyone had a blast. It was a great way to spend a Summer evening.
What a fun cake! You did a great job with it. Looks like everyone had a wonderful time at your sister's birthday celebration.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteThat's great - who knew you could get a tiny toilet on amazon! A challenging theme but you did a very creative job!
ReplyDeleteThere were lots of price ranges for tiny toilets too! I of course bought the cheapest one. LOL
DeleteThe cake is fantastic! You should be very proud of your creativity!
ReplyDeleteThank you. I am happy with how it turned out.
