Something to think about...

I have been trying to get my thoughts in order as regards to the shooting in Uvalde, Texas. Having been a teacher, now working in a school, having a brother who is entering into his profession as a middle school/high school teacher it hits home. I really don't know how to express what I have been feeling, but I saw this on Facebook and decided I needed to share. It really is something to think about.

  1. I'm with you. Both of my parents worked in schools (my mom in an elementary school, my dad in a high school) & two of my close friends are high school administrators. On top of that, there was a shooting at my employer, a few years back. It's very, very close to home. I've also struggled with processing everything. Hugs to you.

  2. Every day I speak to someone from a school that feels defeated. If it's not their safety, it's being accused of indoctrinating kids, or fighting for respect. It's so very sad, yet I'm supposed to be part of their support system and feel powerless.

  3. Two of my children are school teachers in Texas! And, I have two grandchildren in hs in TX, also. The shootings unnerve me. I cry for the children that are hurt, physically and emotionally. I hope I don't have to cry for my own children.

  4. Boy I'm setting myself up but to show only Republicans don't care is wrong to me. This and most topics shouldn't be about one side. My husband votes Republican and he doesn't believe any jack ass should have a gun. He believes a woman has the right to choose. We need better laws and raise the age to buy a gun to 21.

    1. Cheryl, please name any Republican Senator or Representative who votes for the things your husband believes.

    2. I would have posted this if the animal was a donkey. I don't hate all Republicans (or all Democrats) for that matter. However, what I do see is Republicans in charge not doing a thing except talk and not doing anything. I agree that we need better laws about age and type of gun that people can buy. This is not an issue about being Republican or Democrat. This is a human issue.
