Keyboard, Popcorn, Staples in the Head and Other Stuff

Happy Monday everyone! I hope today is being kind to everyone. After the chaos of this weekend, I finally am able to sit and blog for a moment.

What's been going on?

Well, we got a keyboard. My in-laws mailed the kids a Christmas present of a teaching keyboard, complete with a stool and books to learn. The kids have been having fun "playing" it. Rebecca has learned a few things about it, although she spends most of her time playing with her guitar.

Speaking of Rebecca, I cut her hair last week. She wanted to get several inches cut off. I probably cut 6 inches or so off her hair. She likes it. We had friends over for dinner on Saturday night and her friend yelled at her because she got it cut. LOL

I tried a new snack this weekend. Rebecca had gotten me some popcorn for Christmas. It was quite yummy. I look forward to trying other flavors.

Sunday, we went on a family walk to enjoy the rare sunshine and saw some cute cows and a llama.

*If you are squeamish, you can skip the next part*

After walking the kids wanted to play on the playground. Well, Ben was running away from Rebecca and Jacob during a game of tag and he ducked under the equipment and didn't duck far enough and slammed his head under. By the time he came back to the other side, there was blood gushing down his face. We were able to get the bleeding stopped for the most part and Ben calmed down. When we got up to walk to the van, Ben wanted to know if we could see his brain? LOL After being home, there was one spot that kept re-bleeding. So Bill took him off to Urgent Care and Ben ended up with 7 staples in his head! Apparently it was a much bigger cut than we thought. Apparently from the pressure that we applied it made his hair and the dried blood clot most of the cut but when they cleaned the hair off it opened back up.

Today, the kids were back to school. They have a 4 day week this week. Ben is at school with restrictions of no gym class or recess until Wednesday. I sent the note in this morning from the doctor with the official excuse. I get a phone call about an hour after school started saying that the note doesn't say anything about Ben not being allowed to participate in gym class? The substitute secretary NOR the principal could see it and so they said that Ben HAD to participate in gym. Um, no. The note was marked as excused from Physical Education until 1/13/21. I had to guide her over the phone to where it said on the note. That is literally all the note said. It was check-marked excused from PE. Oh my word. And besides that can't they see the staples in his head?? Seriously. When I picked Ben up from school, he said he spent gym and recess time in the office playing on his Chromebook.

Also today, I have tutored my digital academy kiddo and a homeschool kiddo. I have also done a boat load of laundry after not getting ANY done this weekend. I literally folded 7 loads of laundry. Tomorrow I need to go through the boys' clothes and pull out all the shirts that are too small that they keep trying to wear.

Last night I stayed up late with Bill to watch the Cleveland Browns win their first playoff game in forever. Tonight, I will probably stay up and watch the OSU/Alabama National Championship game, unless I fall asleep on the couch as I am really tired.

What have you been up to? Do you have a rooting interest in the NFL playoffs, or in the National Championship game tonight?

  1. Love the haircut!!!!!
And sorry about the staples in the head. What a trooper he was! Rhett had something like that happen on Easter Sunday when he was little. He came out of the kitchen with blood gushing down his face, and he had no idea!!!! After a trip to the ER and staples, we finally figured out he scraped his head under the kitchen table getting a little ball he got in his Easter Basket! The doctor told us that scalps bleed a lot!! You know we are huge Steeler fans here, but honestly, during the game Sunday night, I found myself cheering for the Browns! They really wanted that win, and we are happy for them! Enjoy cheering them on!Well, better go start my day. Schooling and laundry! Have a cozy one!

  2. My son broke his arm and had a note excusing him from PE. Two weeks later I happened to see the coach and mentioned my son not being in PE. Coach was puzzled and said son had been in PE and had done everything but pushups. Well, I talked to my son who said he did not want to sit in the library and write, copy, things from the encyclopedia. So, that was that. He never missed a day in PE! He still had the note which I kept in case he needed a day off or hurt himself in PE, so he could sit out. Amazing that they two adults in the room could not read.

  3. The way you share every minute detail of your life makes your blog more interesting. I can never write or form such amazing sentences; probably not any time soon. This is why I even take Essay Help in Chicago - Usessaywriter.com even for my essay submission. I hope that one day I can be a good writer at least good enough to write my essays.

  5. Oh, the keyboard, popcorn, staples in the head, and other stuff. When it comes to necessities, I recently improved my PC configuration by purchasing the 8TTF0 - Dell 400-Watts Power Supply for Enclosure. My gaming and working experiences have reached a whole new level thanks to its stability and power efficiency.
