As we head into this week, and as I am facing surgery tomorrow, I took everyone's advice and made sure we had easy to fix meals on hand for my husband to make this week. We are trying to keep things regular for the kids as much as possible, so I also took into mind what kinds of foods they like.
Instead of assigning different meals to each night like I would normally do, I have just made a list that my dear Husband can pick and choose from. Whatever isn't fixed this week will be moved to next week.
Here are the choices for this week:
- Lasagna (frozen in freezer)
- Hamburger helper
- Hot dogs and baked beans
- Chicken patties with veggies
- Macaroni and cheese and peas
- Fish sticks, french fries and a veggie
- Manwich, green beans and carrots
- Waffles, sausage links, and fruit
- Frozen pizza and fruit
He's showing his true colors and how much he cares for you! How sweet! Great menus, don't hesitate to ask the kids to help, too. Pass a vacuum, fold towels-very do-able. Good luck tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteHe is sweet! And believe me the kids know that they have to help out around the house more. Thanks for the good luck!
DeleteGood luck tomorrow. You made good meal choices. Bet the kids will love helping out and getting things you need. Cheryl
ReplyDeleteThanks. I tried to make meal choices that were as easy as possible.
DeleteSounds like a great plan. Planning in advance will help you feel more relaxed, and make things easier for your husband & kids. Win/win! Sending good thoughts your way for tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteI don't know if I am more relaxed...less stressed about what is going to go on at home maybe. Thanks for the good thoughts!
DeleteSounds like you have a solid plan in place! Good luck tomorrow! I'll be thinking of you!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the good luck and the thoughts!
DeleteI was in the hospital for a week and the kids called every day telling me how mean he was, yelling at them for not eating, and making horrid meals. I had no chance to plan as I was on the grocery store floor screaming in pain before I went to hospital. He never took into account what they liked, just dumped cans of food, heated and forced them to eat. He ruined things in the wash that I had to replace after telling him not to wash certain things and dry, put things in the dishwasher that I told him not to--ruined! The place was a wreck and kids were hanging onto me, crying, begging me not to ever leave again. Your husband sounds like he is going to help you and kids will be okay.
ReplyDeleteHeal quickly my friend. I know that everything will go smoothly.
