Weigh In Wednesday #17 of 2017

So one of my 2017 goals is to lose 40 pounds by the end of the year. This is a necessity for me, as in the last few months I have gained 15 pounds. That is not good. I want to be healthier and feel better about myself.

In order to keep me accountable, I am hoping to come back each Wednesday to share my weigh in and my successes and failures from the previous week. So let's hop to it and see how I did this past week, shall we?

SO HOW DID THIS WEEK GO???
My official starting weight (on 1/1/2017) was: 242.0 pounds!
My weight last week was: 234.2 pounds.
My weight this week is: 233.8 pounds.
So a loss of 0.4 pounds! :-/
Total loss from 1/1/17: 8.2 pounds

First of all, I apologize that this is going up so late. It has been a long day/ long week and it is only Wednesday. I have been extremely busy today and only now have had a chance to type this up. So I am down 0.4 pounds. Not a ton, but I will take it. I am at the point where I am beginning to get frustrated because I seem to be doing really well on the food part, and I am walking/hiking at least 3 days a week. I will admit yesterday was bad. All I wanted to do was eat junk and more junk! It was supposed to be a low carb day, and I made a new recipe for dinner that was a bust and that just made the day even worse and I ended up eating a bunch of mini cookies. :-( I am really struggling right now and I just can't seem to get out of this funk and get more weight down. I will just have to keep on it and know that even if it is extremely slow, the scale is moving in the right direction.

If you are trying to lose weight in 2017, how is your progress going?

  1. As you read from my post, I understand your frustration all too well! But, the scale is still moving in the right direction for you and you are getting out and moving so be proud of those things! =) You got this! Some weeks are much harder than others!

  2. A loss is a loss. 4 ounces is technically a stick of butter, so this week you are about 1 2/3 sticks down!
As for me, well, there is no diet I can't beat!

  3. You also might be shifting weight, building more muscle if you are exercising more and reducing sugars, which in the long run, helps you burn calories more efficiently. At least that is what I tell myself when I have been doing the right things and am not getting the scale satisfaction.

  4. Hang in there! I think as the weather improves, it will help. You still had a loss despite a frustrating week so good for you!

  5. I tried on my hiking pants for my upcoming trip and found them a bit snug so I'm back on The Calcium Diet which works well for women "of a certain age" as it deals with the bloat.
It means suffering of course :( as there is no "good stuff"!

Forty pounds is an admirable goal, keep chipping away and you'll see results.
