There are lots of things on my mind today... and all of it is stressing me out.....
- Bill's new job....well, he is on day 4 of working there and already complaining and hates it. The owner does not know how to train. She has him working 2- 14 hour shifts this week (Open to close 9am-11pm). This morning he was supposed to open the store on his own--- he hasn't been trained to do that. Next week he is only scheduled for 36 hours after she told him it would be 40 hours a week and the pay rate is actually $2 less than she told him in the interview. He is beyond frustrated and I am scared he is going to up and quit. I don't know what to do.
- My mom has had several health issues going on and one has been diagnosed as colon cancer. She found out yesterday. She just got a call for another doctors appointment for tomorrow which is related. I know that they were recommending surgery but I don't know if tomorrow's appointment is with the surgeon or not.
- My parents officially got permanent legal custody of my niece and nephew yesterday. I knew this was coming but still makes me so angry at my brother and the mother of these kids. Adds another level of stress to my parents' lives.
- School's supposed to be starting back. Just found out that my kids will be going in school 2 days a week and doing online 3 days a week. Thankfully, they are all 3 in the same cohort so they will be in school and online the same days. Still a huge stressor. Not sure how all that is going to work.
So sorry this a downer post. Maybe tomorrow I will be back with a better outlook....
If we can help release some tension, go for it. That is an awful lot to deal with. Bill’s boss sounds ridiculous, but perhaps if he confronts her immediately he can get what was promised. I’ll keep your mom in my thoughts.
ReplyDeleteBill should talk to her about the opening, so he will know what is what. I think I would be putting out feelers for a new job. Did he sign anything with the agreed pay listed? I hope for the best for your mother. Remember, things have improved in this area in the past few years. I will keep her in my thoughts. It's okay to post the hard and unpleasant things when things are hard and unpleasant for you.
