Blogmas 2014: Day 9: Winter Items You Can't Live Without

There are 2 items that first came to mind when I was thinking what winter items I can't live without...

#1....FUZZY SOCKS

The view of my feet today!
I love, love warm fuzzy socks on a cold winter day. The house we rent is all hardwood floors and since we don't have rugs down due to Bill's dust allergy, I live in fuzzy socks most of the winter. As I get older, I don't like cold feet...and there is something very relaxing about fuzzy socks!

#2....TALL BOOTS!

I have a pair of tall black boots that I wear almost daily to work, sometimes over jeans or khakis, sometimes under my pants. But, I have been looking for flat, tall brown boots for over 3 years that will fit my shoe size. I have a large shoe size for a woman (size 11 wide) and I need a larger calf size for tall boots. They have been hard to find in brown. Well about a month ago I found them. (on sale with free shipping from Payless.com) and I can say that I LOVE THEM! They are perfect for what I have been looking for!

I love, love, love fuzzy warm socks and tall boots in winter, so for me those are 2 things that I can't live without in winter!

  1. Super cute socks! And those boots are a total find, boots are a tricky thing to get just right but it sounds like you have done it! Rock that winter look!

    1. Thanks Erin! The socks were actually a Dollar Tree find...they had lots of them (and I may have just picked up some for my niece and Rebecca for Christmas too!). Yeah I kind of love my boots! :)

  2. So, Rachel...your pictures show the beach...that's more like what MY winters are like! When it DOES get cold, I love a fuzzy pair of socks as well...in fact, I have a very similar picture to yours with your green and white socks, but mine are pink and white! And I have a pair of purple and white and a solid pink too!

    1. I wish I was on the beach now, but alas must make do with our cold, snowy Ohio. (The pictures were from our beach vacation this summer). I would love to find some pink and white socks since pink is my favorite color :)

  3. OH, yes, your beach pictures made me long for summer!
I have hardwood floors too, with no rugs but we have wood heat and it really makes them very warm. I still wear fuzzy socks (with grippers).

    1. I have a couple of pairs of socks with grippers on them. I try to make sure any I buy for Rebecca has them on them. They are perfect for the hardwoods.

  6. Love your fuzzy socks! One of the biggest treats I get is when my daughter wants to play spa & gives my toe nails love, lotions my feet & then puts my fuzzy socks on. I swear life does not get better!
