Friday morning came with some rain showers. But they cleared up fairly quickly so we spent a lot of time down at the beach. Bill and Rebecca kept catching more fish. Jacob and Ben played on the beach.
In the evening, we had planned on taking the kids to see the Morehead City Marlins baseball team play. We headed out after checking Facebook and not seeing any cancellation notices. We get there (40 minutes away) only to be told that they cancelled the game because the field was too wet (even though it had been hot and humid and sunny most of the day). Jacob was very disappointed. We weren't the only ones who had shown up either.
So we had to figure out a plan B. Well, Rebecca had said that the only thing she really wanted to do was to go mini-golfing on vacation. Well, while we were driving throughout the week I had noticed that the city of Atlantic Beach had added a new park that had a mini golf course, so we headed there. It was only $20 for all of us to golf (versus $12 per person at the other place in town). We all had fun. Ben even got a hole in one on the 18th hole!
After mini-golf the kids were hungry so we headed across the street to Bojangles and got them some kids meals to go and then back to the park to eat and to let the kids play on the playground.
Then it was back to the condo so that Bill and I could eat our dinner. (We picked up a Stromboli and ice cream from Food Lion). It was pretty tasty.
The sky was again very beautiful as Friday came to an end.
We went to bed looking forward to relaxing on our last full day on Saturday.
Looks like you had such a great vacation. Makes me want to go to a beach.
