Beach time, a funny story, pool time and ice cream

I am currently recapping our 2018 family summer vacation to Indian Beach, North Carolina. To see the previous days please visit:

After traveling on Sunday and being sort of busy on Monday and Tuesday, we decided to just stay in the condo complex on Wednesday. We didn't want to get into the car and go anywhere.

Wednesday morning we decided to head down to the beach. There were some early morning storms off the coast, which made it somewhat cloudy on the beach, but even a cloudy day is a good day on the beach. 🙂🙂

We had lots of fun....
building sandcastles...

throwing a wiffle ball around...

playing in the cold water....

burying Ben again...

reading a good book...

and catching fish and crabs with nets....

Overall it was a great morning, especially since the sun came out shortly after we were out there.

Then we headed up to the condo for a lunch of PB&Js. Funny story... I fed the kids lunch in the dining room and Bill and I headed out to the balcony to eat. I told the kids to finish their lunches and then clean up their toys while I was eating my lunch. Then we would head down to the pool for a bit in the afternoon. Well, as Bill and I were finishing our lunch, Rebecca comes out to the patio and says, "Mom, can you please come get Benjamin? He is running around with no clothes on and putting the snorkel where it isn't supposed to go." So I go into the condo and Benjamin is running around stark naked, holding the snorkel near his privates. I desperately wanted to laugh out loud, but instead I asked him what he was doing and he said he couldn't find his swimming trunks. LOL There is never a dull moment with that boy.

After that, we got ready to head down to the pool. The wind had picked up at this point, and Ben HATES the wind. He lasted about 10 minutes in the pool, only wanting to be held, and crying because it was too windy.

I finally took him up to the condo, while Bill stayed with Rebecca and Jacob.

After dinner, we decided to get some ice cream from the café down in the complex. We also decided to eat it on the steps heading down to the beach. Ben hated it because it was still windy. It added a little bit of stress to the evening but we dealt with it.

After our ice cream we took a short walk on the beach, before heading in to bed.

We went to bed that night looking forward to the adventures of the next day.

  2. I still chuckle about the snorkel incident, but having only son's I could see it happening.
