Ben loved his season of Upward basketball. He learned a lot and had a ton of fun. In his final game, the refs may have helped some of the Kindergarteners to score ;) Ben scored two baskets. He had so much fun and cried when the game was over and he was sad.
Jacob did so well in his season. He really took to basketball more than we ever thought he would. He played such good defense and had several blocks on Saturday!
Rebecca really came into her game this year. She improved so much. She scored several baskets this year. She did not score any on Saturday; however she really played great defense. She even set a very nice pick in the 6th period of her game, that even the coaches complimented her on.
After each game, the kids had a pizza party and got their prizes for the year. This year the kids got a nice Upward backpack.
They had such fun and they can't wait until next year when they can play again.
I loved Upward when my youngest son was playing. It was a great way to get your feet wet in a sport where you can learn without the constant pressures of winning. I absolutely have nothing but good things to say about the Upward program.
ReplyDeleteWe had a couple instances that left a bad taste in my mouth this season. However, there are some changes being made for next season so we will continue to take part in the program. My kids love it!

ReplyDeleteThey really did enjoy themselves! And they had fun at the parties. There was SO MUCH PIZZA! I don't know if I want to see any pizza anymore. LOL
