DISNEY MATH GAME NIGHT
Last week, the kids' school hosted a Disney themed math game night at the school. I took the boys to it as Rebecca was helping out her Challenge math teacher as one of his assistants to his games. Each teacher had a game set up in their classroom that the kids could play. There were snacks in the cafeteria as well.
The kids had a blast but is made for a long night as the event was a little over 2 hours long.
LUNCH TIME WITH MY MOM AND BROTHER
A couple of weeks ago, my mom and sister and I met for lunch while Mary was home for Spring Break from college. We met again the following Friday. Then last Thursday my mom texted wanting to know if we were meeting up again. I said sure. So Friday we met up again for lunch at our favorite Mexican restaurant. This time my brother came as well and he has been having a rough time lately so he ordered a drink that had like 3 different types of liquor. It was really good and I took a picture of my mom and brother and sent it to my sister and teased her that she was being replaced. LOL
CLEANING AND DECLUTTERING
On Saturday, I continued my quest to clean and declutter the house. I decided to tackle our bedroom.
Oh my word. I didn't realize how much crap stuff I had. I went through our closet, my dresser, and my books.
I got a large stack of books to pass on to my mom. I also got a box and 3 trash bags full of stuff, clothes and shoes to donate. I also had 2 trash bags of trash (old pillows, etc).
Bill straightened his parts of the room, but still needs to declutter his stuff. It looks so much better in there now and I truly feel lighter.
DATE NIGHT
Bill and I celebrated my cleaning and our love in an at home date night on Saturday night. We ordered Chinese food from a new to us Chinese buffet, as the place we normally order from has given me bad stomachaches the last few times we have ordered (they are under new ownership and the quality of their food has gone down a lot!). Bill ordered his General Tsao's chicken which came with fried rice and an egg roll. I ordered a small order of chicken and broccoli, vegetable lo mein, and an egg roll. We also order a spring roll to try. I didn't like the spring roll, but the other food was delicious. We will definitely be ordering from them again. We got so much food and it was a lot less than the other place we normally ordered from.
After the kids went to bed, we watched "Thor: Ragnorak" which is a really good movie.
TAKING ADVANTAGE OF NICE WEATHER
The last couple of days have been really nice here. Sunny skies and temperatures in the middle/ upper 50s. Sunday, after we dropped off my stuff at Goodwill, we headed to Ariel Foundation Park to have our first picnic of 2018. The kids enjoyed it and loved throwing rocks in the lakes. We also ended up walking a little over 2 miles.
Then yesterday, Ben's speech appointment got cancelled as his therapist is sick so we took advantage of the free time and headed out to Wolf Run to walk. We hadn't been there since last fall. We had a lovely almost 2 mile walk (a lot of it was uphill, so my legs are hurting!)
So that is a little glimpse in what has been keeping me busy over the last few days. It is a crazy, busy life but it is really fulfilling and I love it! Hope everyone has a lovely Tuesday!
Your kids are getting so big! I think the school math night is a great idea - math games are a great way of reinforcing math skills and it's fun! Weather is slowly improving here and I'm getting out for hikes - still very slushy and muddy though.
